Crowdfunded bamboo bike promises to get kids interested in engineering

Amsterdammer Jan Bashaijha Mwesigwa came up with a fun and sustainable way for toddlers to get around and he called it the KaboogaBike. It is a completely sustainable balance bike that combines the pleasure of getting your first bike with the fun of a craft project with your parents. Mwesigwa built the very first one for his son and was then flooded with questions of where he got it, so he decided to try and crowdfund his sustainable bike. The balance bike is made bamboo, so it is completely sustainable. Bamboo is a very strong natural product, so the bike is durable, and very shock-absorbent, which makes it more comfortable than plastic balance bikes. The KaboogaBike is also a put-it-together-yourself bike, which combines the pleasure of getting your first bike with the fun of a craft project with your parents. The sustainable bamboo bike is available through crowfdunding platform oneplanetcrowd.
