France migrants blamed for €150 million in Dutch trucking damages

Migrants trying to move across Europe by sneaking onto trucks in Calais, France cost the Dutch transport sector around 150 million euros in damages, Transport and Logistics Netherlands, TLN, announced on Tuesday, NU reports. This includes damages caused by delays, damage to vehicles ad damage to cargo. Drivers also have to deal with increasing aggression when traveling through Calais. And according to TLN, there is not a good alternative route to follow when delivering goods between the Netherlands and England. TLN wants France to deploy military forces to help ensure the safety of trucks and drivers. The mayor of Calais previously asked the French government to do the same. TLN will again discuss the matter with the French authorities on Thursday.
