Snow, sleet expected this weekend
The mild autumn weather in the Netherlands is taking a turn towards cold this weekend. Weeronline expects the ambient temperatures to drop towards freezing on Saturday and Sunday, due to wind chill, and Limburg might even see some wet snow.
Afternoon temperatures for Saturday and Sunday will be around 6 degrees, but due to the cold wind from the North Sea, it will feel much colder in most of the country. Minimum temperatures may fall below zero, resulting in wet snow in the Limburg hills.
Due to the incoming air becoming gradually colder, their may be some fierce storms accompanied by thunder and hail, especially in the coastal provinces. Though the KNMI has not issued any weather warnings so far.
The wet snow expected for this weekend, is not the first snow of the season. The first snow fell in Limburg on October 14th.
