Teen girl arrested for threatening mail with a "terrorist nature"

A 15-year-old girl from Goirle was arrested on Wednesday after she sent threatening emails to her classmates with a "terrorist nature," police said in a statement. "That created a great deal of turmoil at the school, particularly in the context of recent events in France," authorities added. She was arrested on Wednesday, and investigators searched her home, though it is unclear whether anything was found. Carin Zandbergen, rector of the Mill-Hill secondary school which the girl attends, told Omroep Brabant that the girl made negative comments during the school's service to commemorate the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks on Monday. "She could not keep quiet for one minute. A teacher approached her at the time and also after class." The school informed the police when they came across the email. "Then there was a big discussion between us, the police, various health authorities and the Goirle municipality. The case is now pending before the judiciary and police."
