Tour operator TUI scraps more flights to Sharm el-Sheikh
TUI Nederland has decided to scrap all flights to Sharm el-Sheikh until December 18th. The tour operator will only send planes to pick up tourists that are already there, news wire ANP reports.
This is in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' travel advice on Friday, following the Russian airplane crash in Sinai. There are increasing indications that the plane was brought down by an explosion.
TUI, KLM and other travel agency Neckermann also implemented a hand-luggage-only measure after the crash. According to ANP, TUI and Belgian sister company has now hired a security team to do extra checks on luggage so that passengers can return from Egypt with all their belongings.
Corendon and Neckermann Reizen have also cancelled all flights to the resort until December 18th. Corendon is also not flying to the resorts of Hurghada and Mara Alam.
