Máxima released from hospital after kidney infection

Doctors at Bronovo Hospital in Den Haag discharged Queen Máxima after keeping her for treatment and observation over a three-day period, the government’s media office revealed on Saturday. The Dutch queen was diagnosed with a kidney infection while visiting China with King Willem-Alexander and a Netherlands trade delegation. “Many thanks for the many “get well” wishes I received. Your support is heartwarming,” she said via the royal house’s official Twitter account. Her trip was cut short and she returned to the Netherlands on Wednesday. Her detail took her directly to Bronovo after landing. While in China she was prescribed treatment for the infection, but her fever did not break and back pain persisted. The cause of the ailment was not released.

“Veel dank voor de vele beterschapswensen die ik mocht ontvangen. Uw steun is hartverwarmend!” M
