Dutch safety chief: MH17 suspects will likely go unpunished

Dutch Safety Board chairman Tjibbe Joustra is pessimistic about the probability that those responsible for the disaster with flight MH17 will ever be punished. "That seems to be becoming complicated. Several countries are not eager to extradite people at all", he said in an interview with the Volkskrant, naming Russia as an example. He does, however, believe that the perpetrators will eventually be identified. "How did that BUK missile system get there, where exactly did it come from? Who gave the instruction? I believe that it is possible to get clarity on that." Joustra added that Russia is deliberately trying to undermine the Safety Board's report on the MH17 crash, which was published on Tuesday. "Every time the Russians come with other stories and other speakers. I got the impression that they are trying to discredit the report, and it does not matter with what argument." he said to the newspaper. "All I can think of is that they see problems arising from follow-up investigations."
