Badr Hari's lawyer resigns "for her own reasons"
Badr Hari's lawyer, Benedicte Ficq, has decided to stop defending the kickboxer with immediate effect, citing that the decisions were made "for her own reasons".
Ficq's law firm announced this on Twitter on Saturday. "For her own reasons, Benedicte Ficq has decided to lay down the defense of Mr. Badr Hari", the tweet reads. The reason for this decision is unclear. Also unclear is who will take over Hari's defense.

On Saturday the Telegraaf reported that Ficq resigned because Hari misled her. On Friday the court of Amsterdam had to decide whether Hari would be remanded into custody. According to the newspaper, Ficq's main argument against Hari being taken into custody is that he had to take part in a major martial arts gala in Morocco over the weekend. Shortly after the court decided that Hari would stay free, the organization of the gala announced that Hari had opted out of the event.
Last year the court found Badr Hari guilty of a series of assaults in Amsterdam clubs and parties and sentenced him to 18 months in prison. Both Hari and the Public Prosecutor appealed against this ruling. The court handled the appeal last week. The Public Prosecutor demanded 3 years in prison against Hari during the appeal.
