Undocumented migrants rescued from fruit delivery truck

Seven stowaways were discovered in the back of a truck on the ABC Westland business park in Poeldijk on Wednesday afternoon. They have been handed over to the immigration police. The driver of the truck was taken to the police station for questioning, Omroep West reports. It is unclear whether he knew about his hidden passengers. The truck was transporting tropical fruits. When it was opened, a stench emerged from the cargo area. The stowaways had fed themselves on the tropical fruit inside the truck, and were forced to also use the space as a bathroom. The nationality of the stowaways is still unknown.
