Rotterdam subway system completely shut down for hours
A fault in the railway security system brought the Rotterdam subway traffic to a standstill around 9:45 on Thursday morning. Transport company RET warned travelers to take extra travel time of "60 minutes or more" into account.
The security system ensures that the subways are traveling at a safe speed and safe distances for each other, according to NRC. For the safety of the drivers and passengers, RED decided to stop all traffic on lines A to E.
