Dutch celeb Gordon struck in Greece hit-and-run

Singer-presenter Gordon was severely injured in a hit and run accident on the Greek island of Mykonos on Thursday night. He was hit by a car as he was walking to his hotel from a restaurant. "What should have been a wonderful vacation after an intensive six months of hard work ended in a nightmare for me", the singer wrote on Facebook on Sunday night. He says he can't remember much of the accident. "The only thing I know is that I woke up in a trauma room and before I knew it I was in an ambulance plane flying to Athens." He adds that he is terribly shocked, but in good hands. "Have an awful lot of pain, but I'm alive! It could have been much worse. I've never found being hit from behind on a Greek island so bad, but not in this way! I only hope that I can return home quickly, but with six broken ribs flying seems dangerous. My new program 'Never go home' now gets a very wry load pfffff. I fight for a speedy recovery and thank all of you for so much love and warmth." Gordon's family has been informed about the accident, AD reports. Brother Martin Heuckeroth told the newspaper that the family reacted in "disbelief" to what happened. "We are very shocked. It is serious, but he's not in life-threatening danger. Nevertheless, everyone is in turmoil. We wonder who has this on his or her conscience. To speed away after such a crash is the lowest of the low. Whoever would do such a thing is an utter rat." Gordon caused quite a bit of controversy in the Netherlands two years ago when he asked a Chinese contestant on Holland's Got Talent whether he would be singing "Number 39 with Rice".
