Body found in Rotterdam canal during port event

A large number of people watched the police remove a body from the Prins Hendrikkade in Rotterdam on Friday. As the World Port Days event started in the city on Friday, the area was very busy. The corpse was floating in the water near the Koninginnebrug between the neighborhoods Feijenoord and Noordeiland. A police spokesperson told AD that the body has been removed from the water and the police are investigating. The spokesperson expects that more details about the victim's identity, and how he came to be in the water, will be available during the course of the afternoon.
