Video: CEO apologizes over Juliana Bridge crane accident

Cranes company Peinemann has released a video in which general director Ad Kornet apologizes for the accident involving the Juliana Bridge in Alphen aan den Rijn on August 3rd. According to Kornet, all employees at the company are deeply shocked. On Monday last week, two cranes collapsed while trying to place a section of the Juliana Bridge. The cranes and the section of bridge toppled onto homes and businesses. No one was injured, but the surrounding homes and businesses were severely damaged. "We are unfortunately involved in the terrible incident in Alphen aan den Rijn. The fallen cranes are ours, the operators are employed at family business Peinemann", Kornet says. "On behalf of all employees of all involved companies, we express our sympathy to all who are affected." Kornet continues that the company is "greatly relieved" that there were no serious injuries or deaths in the accident. He expressed their sympathy with "the people whose home was destroyed, the entrepreneurs who can not work because they can't get into their business, and the man who lost his dog." The general manager also thanked the municipality, police, fire brigade and rescue units "acted adequately", as well as the residents who rushed to help and shelter those involved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aw9FhiyswyQ
