Financial troubles plague solar company Solland Solar

Heerlen based solar cell manufacturer Solland Solar is having financial difficulties. Union FNV has applied for bankruptcy on behalf of the company's about 70 employees. Union director Maria Sigmund confirmed this to the Groene Courant. According to her, the situation at the company seems hopeless and the union has little confidence left in the management. The employees have had enough. It's been nearly three months since they last received their salary. And there has been no normal production since March. "Wages have not been paid since June. And we expect, despite assurances from the company's board, that this will not happen in the short term", Sigmund said. Solland Solar is also the shirt sponsor for football club Roda JC. "The management of Solland Solar is talking about an internal issue that has no consequences for Roda JC on payments to us", a spokesperson for the club said to the Telegraaf. Solland Solar is the property of Italian company Pufin Power.
