Netherlands fugitive chased down, caught in Spain

Escaped convict Ali Benhadi has been found. He was arrested in Spain on Sunday, the police announced on Monday. The Public Prosecutor will negotiate his extradition with the Spanish authorities. Benhadi was arrested at 02:55 a.m. on Sunday after a check in Algeciras. His identity was officially confirmed based on his finger prints. The 23 year old man escaped from a psychiatric hospital in Den Dolder on Tuesday, July 14th. The police released his name and photo on July 16th because they believed that Benhadi is dangerous and there was a good chance that he may use violence. On Tuesday, July 21st, the police searched Benhadi's childhood home in Amsterdam-West, but found no trace of him.
