Five more arrested for Schilderswijk riots
The police arrested another five suspects this week in connection with the riots in Schilderswijk, The Hague after the death of Aruban man Mitch Henriquez late last month.
The arrests were made based on video footage and images of the riots studied by a team of detectives and statements from witnesses.
The police arrested a 49 year old man from Leeuwarden on suspicion of threats and defamation. A 14 year old girl from Gemert was arrested on suspicion of threats via social media. A 20 year old man from The Hague for sedition and threats and a 17 year old boy also from The Hague was arrested for involvement in the looting of a shop during the riots. A 22 year old man from Bunnik was arrested on charges of public violence against property and arson.
The investigation team is still looking for images and video footage of the riots. Such footage can be uploaded on this website. The police expect that many more arrests will be made in the coming weeks.
