Eight kids rescued from Dutch pedophile in int’l investigation
The operation against child sexual exploitation has been successfully concluded by law enforcement authorities in Belgium, Australia and the Philippines. Eight children have been rescued, Europol reports.
The operation began in Belgium when it came to light that a Dutch citizen in Antwerp was sexually abusing his young foster children in Cambodia and other children in the Philippines. The authorities tracked his involvement in producing and distributing child pornography.
In June 2015 Eruopol held a specialist meeting on child sexual exploitation crimes. During that meeting the team leader from Crimes Against Children in Antwerp presented a case. The Victim Identification Coordinator from Task Force Argos in Australia recognized the child abuse material of two victims that was presented.
The Task Force Argos investigators teamed up with the Crimes against the Person Section of the Antwerp Police and the National Bureau of Investigation in the Philippines. Together they managed to piece together enough information to identify the two child victims, as well as six others.
The Dutch man and a woman were arrested and all 8 children were rescued from a life of sexual abuse.
