Activists blockade Univ. Amsterdam building

A group of activists from De Nieuwe Universiteit blocked the entrance to the University of Amsterdam's Maagdenhuis on Friday morning.  The activists posted a picture of the blockade on Twitter on Friday morning, saying that the action is "against the huge amount of flex contracts and increasing workloads for from teachers to cleaners". On their Facebook page the group writes that the University of Amsterdam has suffered "many millions of losses" through real estate and derivatives. "The jobs of UvA staff vanish due to this mismanagement. The New University says no to job losses! Money should go to education and research: not to banks like Deutsche Bank and real estate managers" https://twitter.com/sksu020/status/606689631812337664/
