D66 to support coalition in Senate

The Cabinet may be able to count on the D66's support in the Eerste Kamer, Senate, on important issues such as the tax reform. Alexander Rinnooy Kan, who was chosen for the D66 in the Eerste Kamer, said on Buitenhof that "the willingness to have a constructive conversation is fully present", AD reports. The VVD and PvdA do not have the majority in the new Senate, which was chosen last week. The coalition will have to seek support from opposition parties in order to get proposals passed in the Eerste Kamer. Rinnooy Kan expects that the Cabinet will be able to manage this, though it will be more difficult than it was in the previous Senate.
