Bruna launches Spotify-for-books service
On Wednesday book store Bruna launched Bliyoo, a subscription service similar to Spotify, but for books and magazines, Bruna announced in a press release. Bliyoo is currently filled with thousand of titles, ranging from old books to new, across all kinds of genres. The service also offers all kinds of magazines. According to Bruna, most of the publishing houses have joined this initiative and the range and diversity of reading material is expected to grow even further. Bliyoo is available on tablets and smartphones running on iOS and Android, the app can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play. With this app you can have three books and three magazines on your reading shelf for an unlimited time. Once you are done reading a book, it can easily be swapped for another one. No internet connection is needed while reading - once the book is downloaded, the documents are stored on tablet or phone. The subscription costs 9.95 euros per month for either books or magazine, or 14.95 euros per month for both. All subscribers get the first month free. Fred Zeegers, the General Director of Bruna, is proud of Bliyoo, but will continue to add more to it. "With the start the development of Bliyoo has obviously not come to a halt", Zeegers said. "As partnerships with publishers deepen, only more and more books and magazines become available. It remains my goal to provide at least 75 percent of the available digital titles in our subscription."
