Skunk-smell anti-rape bracelet wins Philips Innovation Award

Pearltect has won the 10th Philips Innovation Award for a self-defense bracelet intended to protect women from sexual abuse, Philips announced on the award's Facebook page. If the Pearltect bracelet activated, the bracelet releases a foul smell and an invisible marker. The smell is intended to discourage attackers and the marker can be used to link the attacker to the crime scene, even months later. This innovative piece of jewelry also won the People's Choice Award. "As an answer to the huge global problem of sexual violence Pearltect’s mission is to provide women all over the world with innovative, reliable and easy to use self-defense products." Pearltect writes on their website.
