Embraer announces new Amsterdam headquarters: Report
Aircraft manufacturer Embraer is opening a new headquarter office in Amsterdam, Patrice Candaten, head of the company's European sales, told De Telegraaf. The arrival of the manufacturer in the Netherlands is expected to generate around 300 jobs.
Embraer spent several years creating the possibility to move to Amsterdam. Two years ago, the company established a holding in the Netherlands. In July, Embraer is opening its office in the Amsterdam Zuid.
KLM recently purchased several aircrafts from Embraer for its regional subsidiary airline KLM Cityhopper. Closer ties with the Dutch airline are not the reason the manufacturer is moving to Amsterdam, Candaten said.
The center for its European and African operations is currently in Paris.
Embraer is a Brazilian airspace conglomerate that manufactures military, commercial and agricultural aircraft. The company is competing with Canadian Bombardier for the title of the third-largest aircraft producer, after Boeing and Airbus. Its current headquarters are located in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
