Football coach: King an Ajax fan, Queen is for Feyenoord

According to Zwolle football coach Ron Jans, King Willem-Alexander is an Ajax fan, while Queen Maxima supports Feyenoord. "I don't know if I can say this, but I'll do it anyway: the King has a preference for Ajax and the Queen for Feyenoord." Jans said on Radio 1 after his conversation with the royal couple on Saturday, RTL reports. This confirms the story in Commander of the Land Forces Mart de Kruif's 2013 published book about his time in Afghanistan between 2008 and 2009. The story states that Willem-Alexander, who was then the crown prince, refused to be photographed in a Feyenoord shirt on a visit. According to the commander, Willem Alexander said: "I'm not going to, because I love good football and am therefore more an Ajax fan."
