Long-lost siblings reunited by Tinder match
A brother and sister who hadn't heard from each other in more than 15 years, found each other through a coincidental match on dating app Tinder, dating site comparison site datingsitekiezen.nl reports.
Erik de Vries and Josephine Egberts last saw each other when their parents separated in 1999. The mother and Josephine stayed in Breda. The father took Erik and his twin brother Maarten to Belgium.
In 2008 Erik moved back to the Netherlands to study. In early April Erik was matched with Josephine on Tinder. After a few chats Erik began wondering if this Josephine might not be the sister he had left behind 15 years before. "I began to wonder to myself: it can't be that I just had a tinder match with my sister?" Erik said. After a few days the curiosity got the best of him and he decided to confront her with his suspicion. After the two exchanged a few facts about their parents and childhood, the suspicion was confirmed.
The two met a week later in a cafe in Tilburg. "When I saw him, it was suddenly very clear." Josephine said to datingsitekiezen.nl. "It was so special to see my own blood brother again after 16 years."
Twin brother Maarten is also extremely happy with the reunion. "Erik and I obviously knew for years that we had a little sister. You obviously don't think about her every day, but a few years ago we did undertake a vain quest to find her. It's too crazy for words that you come into contact with each other again like this, but that also makes it very special. I am very happy that I can now still get to know my sister."
The now 22 year old Josephine and the 24 year old Erik and Maarten definitely plan on seeing much more of each other in future.
