Body found in IJ, Amsterdam Noord

The body of a man was discovered in the IJ at around 08:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, police and firefighters, responded en masse to provide assistance, AT5 reports. They managed to remove the body from the water at Sixhaven in Amsterdam Noord. The man was already deceased. According to the newspaper, the body is believed to have been in the water for between 6 and 12 hours. A witness stated that the man looked to be about 45 years old with an Italian appearance.
