One killed in houseboat explosion, one seriously hurt

There was an explosion in a houseboat on the Veerdijk in Wormer around 04:00 on Monday morning. One man was killed in the explosion, a woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition, the police reports on Twitter. The cause of the explosion is still unclear. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is currently investigating. The area around the houseboat has been closed off and the homes around the houseboat is being evacuated. The police have not released any information regarding the victims' identity yet. According to RTV Noord Holland, explosives were found on board of the houseboat and a deliberate attack is not being ruled out. The female victim saw two people running away from the boat.
