Economic recovery leads truck builder DAF to hire 240

Dutch truck producer DAF is increasing its staff by 240 people in Eindhoven and the Belgian city of Westerlo. The job creation is a result of a production expansion in the company, RTL reported. The truck builder says there are clear signs of recovery in economic activity in Europe now. From June 1, DAF will roll 174 trucks off the assembly line daily instead of 140 now. It was previously announced that beginning April 20, the production would rise to 156 trucks per day, and 160 new jobs would be created. The firm recently built its one millionth truck, with Prime Minister Mark Rutte on hand for the celebration.
