Alleged political leader killer in court next month

Bart van U (39) will appear in court on April 24th for the murder of his sister, Lois van U. Van U. is also a suspect in the murder of former minister Els Borst. According to the Public Prosecutor, the hearing on April 24th will be a so-called pro forma session in which the prosecutor will explain the state of the investigation into Lois van U.'s murder. The session is necessary because Bart van U. is currently in custody and the court must give a judgment on the continuance of custody every three months. Van U. was arrested in January after his sister was found murdered in the home they shared on Oudedijk in Rotterdam. A few weeks after his arrest, a DNA match linked him to the murder of Els Borst. The investigation into Els Borst's murder is under the responsibility of the Public Prosecutor Midden-Nederland and will likely still take some months to complete.
