NS worker beaten on Hoofddorp platform; witnesses sought

A Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) employee was injured in an assault on Hoofdorp's railway station around midnight last night. The victim, a 44 year old woman from Amsterdam, was found by a colleague around 00:40 a.m. She has injuries to her face and not remember the assault. The police are looking to make contact with anyone who may have witnessed the assault. Bystanders reported seeing someone running away around the time of the assault. The police arrested a 26 year old homeless man in the area. He could not give a clear explanation for what he was doing there. The police are investigating his involvement in the incident.
