Netherlands may want "deadliest drone in the world"

The Ministry of Defense is currently considering purchasing a new type of drone - the American MQ-9 Reaper. This type of drone has the ability to carry arms, AD reports. Defense Minister Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert told the Cabinet today that the Netherlands currently does not need to weaponize this drone, but does not rule out that this may eventually be the case. The Ministry of Defense already has two types of unarmed drones - Raven and Scan Eagle. Defense hasn't made a decision on purchasing the MQ-9 Reaper yet, but has already requested information regarding 4 devices from the United States, Hennis informed the Tweede Kamer (lower house of parliament) in a letter. The ministry has also requested 4 training places from the Americans.
