Mother, 59, killed in home; 34-year-old arrested

A 59 year old woman died in her house on Iepenlaan in Heemstede on Wednesday night, presumably as a result of violence. The police found the woman on the ground of her house at about 23:30, after residents reported hearing screams coming from the house. Attempts to resuscitate the woman failed and she died at the scene. A 34 year old man was arrested as a suspect. The police would not say what his relationship was with the woman. Dichtby reports that they were mother and son, according to neighbors. The police has not yet confirmed that this was a murder. "We can only say that the victim was killed by violence", a spokesperson told the newspaper.
