Bungled burglary leaves man dead in ditch

A man died in the vicinity of the bungalow park Vlietlanden in Wervershoof at around 23:30 on Tuesday night. Residents of the park noticed the man acting suspicious at a cottage on the bungalow park. The man fled through a small lake on the property and eventually into a meadow. Some of the residents followed the man and found him lying in a ditch in the meadow. The man was treated on the scene by the police and personnel of an emergency helicopter, but to no avail. He died on the scene. The examination by a medical examiner at the hospital determined that the man died of hypothermia. The police are investigating the man's identity.
