The search for the on the Westerschelde for the missing barge captain has been called off, NOS reports. Yesterday sonar and dredge material was used in the search for the 35 year old man from Moerdijk, but again without success. The barge capsized on Thursday night with three crew members on board. One of them was rescued immediately. The father of the captain was rescued eight hours later, he managed to survive in an air bubble in the ship. During the past 4 days a police diving team has thoroughly searched the area around the scene of the capsizing for the missing captain, but to no avail.
