Snow forces New York Dutch consulate closure
25 consular staff from the Dutch Consulate in New York had to go home early yesterday to avoid getting stuck in the snow storm.
The Consulate called on Dutch people in the country to use "common sense" during the approaching snow storm in the northeastern United States. Any emergency services will be arranged from the embassy in Washington.
The state of emergency applies on the East Coast, including New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York. Dutch travelers visiting the East Coast are advised to wait out the storm in their hotels.
