Power outage stops Utrecht train traffic

Rail traffic around Utrecht Central came to a standstill for a short time on Thursday, the NS reports. The cause was a power outage, which has since been restored. There were no trains to and from Utrecht Central for about 20 minutes. The routes between Utrecht Central and Den Bosch, Amersfoort, Arnhem, Bunnink, Leidsche Rijn, Overvecht and Utrecht Zuilen were affected. The fault was rectified around 12:20 p.m. Trains are running again, but the NS stressed that travelers could still experience some inconvenience. The expectation is that the fault will be completely resolved by 16:00 this afternoon. The cause of the power failure is still under investigation.
