Fatal Tilburg stabbing draws large police response

A 23 year old Tilburg resident was stabbed on Jan Scharpstraat in the Oud-Noord district yesterday afternoon. The man died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The police have started a large scale investigation with about 15 people working on the investigation team. The victim was stabbed in the chest. Bystanders and emergency workers resuscitated him at the scene and he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He died of his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The police are searching for a man who was seen cycling towards Wagenaarstraat shortly after the incident. An initial technical investigation was done on Jan Scharpstraat. The police asked that any witnesses make contact with them.
