Sea lions and penguins ring in the New Year at Artis

The sea lions and 10 penguins in Artis are starting the new year in each other's company. The sea lions and seabirds are now sharing accommodation "to create interaction between different species". According to the zoo all 10 penguins are male, so that the sea lions do not disturb the penguins' breeding process. The critters seem to get along very well with each other, as can be seen in a video Artis made.
