Birds escape Beekse Bergen after aviary collapse
Ten birds escaped from safari park Beekse Bergen after an aviary collapsed. Eight spoonbills and two hammer heads got away.
According to a spokesperson for the safari park, the aviary collapsed under the weight of the snow on Saturday. Many trees and branches also collapsed under the weight. The park was not safe enough to open on Sunday because of all the snow.
The spokesperson asked the public to contact the park if they see the birds. It is difficult for the birds to cope outside the park as the weather conditions make it difficult for them to find food.
