Ukrainian airspace should have been off-limits before MH17

According to military experts, the Ukrainian authorities should have closed the airspace over the eastern part of the country before flight MH17 crossed it. This is according to research by the German media Suddeutsche Zeitung, the radio program of the VPRO Argos, WDR and NDR. This conclusion is related to the shooting down of an Antonov military aircraft, just days before the disaster with flight MH17. This aircraft was shot from the air at a height of nearly 10 thousand meters. "You have to really wonder why the Ukrainian authorities have not completely blocked the airspace in the region", said on e of the military experts.
