Another man hospitalized after fake cocaine use

Yet another person has become unwell in Amsterdam this week after using shoddy drugs.

The victim, a man, walked into a café on Paleisstraat seeking help after he started feeling sick. Reports are that he had not taken the dangerous white heroin against which authorities have posted warnings in the city. What he did use is not clear. He has been taken to a hospital for treatment.

Three tourists have died so fare and 17 people fell sick after taking the shoddy white drug. The victims had sniffed the white heroine, thinking it was cocaine.

Authorities have meanwhile increased the number of warning signs and started posting flyers in restaurants and bars.

The Prosecutor’s Office has promised a €15,000 bounty for the tip that leads to finding the dealer responsible for the spread of the white heroin. Police have said that they are having difficulties putting together a description of the suspect. The victims who survived the ordeal often suffered from amnesia, and in some cases they had also been under the influence of alcohol or weed.
