Girl, 4, escapes apartment overnight; found in snackbar

On Thursday night around midnight, the police had to solve a little mystery when they found a 4 year old girl wandering around a snack bar in Amsterdam Zuidoost. At around 00:25 a.m. someone saw the girl, barefoot and dressed in pajamas, running for the snack bar and called the police. The girl was able to tell the police her name and the names of her parents, but an investigation of the neighborhood did not reveal the girl's address. After consulting the mobile crisis team for youth, the girl was temporarily placed in a foster home while the staff of the emergency room diligently searched for the girl's home. At about 05:00 a.m. this morning the police found a possible address for the girl and headed over there. At arrival they noticed that the front door was ajar. The girl's shocked and amazed father answered the door. The girl had sneaked past her sleeping parents to go on an adventure to the snack bar. The police notified the parents that the girl is in good hands and that they could contact the crisis team in the morning to be reunited.
