Cops save sleeping woman from suffocating

Police officers narrowly saved a woman in her house in Bakkeveen from asphyxiation last night.

The officers had been sent to the house to mediate in a case, but got no response when they knocked on her door. They did however notice a lady lying down on the couch. They also noticed that there was a pot on the stove, a flame burning under it and smoke bellowing up.

As the woman was not waking up to the thickening smoke or their calls, the officers smashed a window in and entered the apartment. The woman was vast asleep, but the officers were eventually able to wake her up, after which they threw the smoking pan out the window.

They called an ambulance for her, but she did not need to be taken to the hospital.
