Movie ticket sales, revenue decline

Fewer people went to the Movies in the Netherlands so far this year than in the first three quarters of 2013. Attendance is 1 percent lower. This is based on figures in the latest version of the Dashboard released by Foundation Film Research (Stichting Filmonderzoek). The films that attracted the most visitors so far this year are The Wolf of Wall Street (670 thousand), Rio 2 3D (580 thousand) and Toscaanse bruiloft (558 thousand). The market share of Dutch films after three quarters amounted to 15 percent. That is the same as for the same period of 2013. The top three most visited Dutch films this year are Toscaanse bruiloft (558 thousand), Soof (476 thousand) and Hartenstraat (395 thousand).
