Military asked to stay off social media

The Ministry of Defense announced a social media alarm after several Dutch soldiers were threatened on LinkedIn and Facebook. Soldiers traveling abroad for vacation or work are urgently advised to turn off the location services on their tablets or mobiles to prevent others from seeing where they are staying. Further recommendations include setting contact pages like Facebook on private, so that only friends can access them. "The settings can be changed with a few simple steps so that you are communicating in a shielded environment", Defense told the entire armed forces personnel.
