Third person dies at Amsterdam Dance Event

A 41 year old woman from Utrecht died on Sunday morning as a result of drug use after attending the Amsterdam Dance event. She is the third person to die of suspected drug use during the event. The woman and her husband attended a succession of parties at Westergaterrein and Club Lite at Jan van Galenstraat. The woman became unwell at the last location and was taken to the hospital. She died shortly after her arrival. The coroner determined that the cause of death was ecstasy (XTC) use. A 21 year old man from Oude Wetering and a 33 year old man from Serbia were the first two to die on Sunday. The first responders share the police's suspicions that drug use was involved in the first two deaths. The police urge anyone with pills of any kind in their possession to either hand them in for testing, or to dispose of them.
