Carjackers lead police on wild chase through Amsterdam center
A 31-year old man and a 38-year-old women have been arrested after leading police on a dangerous car chase through Amsterdam center on Tuesday night. Police were called to the scene after receiving word that a 43-year-old woman was robbed in her car at gunpoint on Keizergracht at 7:40 p.m.
Agents rushed to Keizergracht but could not locate the thieves car.
An Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) was put out on the thieves license plate, which was spotted just after midnight.
Police pursued the thieves in a wild car chase through Amsterdam city center. Pedestrians were forced to jump aside as the car chase passed through Rembrandplein, and on Damstraat, a man was struck while riding his bicycle.
Police eventually forced the thieves into the car terminal at Dam, where the two occupants were arrested.
