King accepts Golden Carriage vandal's apology

King Willem-Alexander accepted old fireman Cor Priele's apology for stealing a cord from the Golden Carriage more than 50 years ago. A few weeks ago Priele wrote a letter to the king confessing to stealing a cord from the Golden Carriage more than 50 years earlier. He received a reply letter from the service of the Royal House on Saturday. In the letter the Royal House writes that they respect Priele's openness after nearly sixty years, Omroep Brabant reports. It also says that the King accepts the excuses for the incident that Priele offered. The equerry of His Majesty the King also emphasizes that the King would appreciate the return of the now famous cord in the Golden Carriage.
