Scandal forces out healthcare auth. director

Mindert Mulder, who has been working as Cure director at the Dutch Health Care Authority (NZa) since late 2008, is leaving the NZa. This departure stems from changes within the organization after a critical investigation report and remarks by Minister Edith Schippers. The NZa has received a lot of criticism lately, for reasons including the suicide of whistle blower Arthur Gotlieb. Minister Edith Schippers wants to restore the authority of the supervisor. She wants to implement stricter rules and guidelines and a clearer division of labor between the NZa and the ministry. The NZa announced Friday that they are working on improvements to the internal functioning of the organization after the tragic death of Arthur Gotlieb and the subsequent report from the committee Borstlap, AD.nl reports. Mulder was leader at innovations in curative care at the NZa.
