Rotterdam restaurant shooting leaves one dead

A man died yesterday in Rotterdam during a shooting incident inside a restaurant at Mathenesserweg. Police say the shooting took place around 6.00pm inside the cafe Dürüm Evi.

There were reports of multiple shots and the victim has already passed away when police arrived on the scene. The shooter and anybody else who could have been involved had already fled. It is not clear whether there had been other patrons present when it happened.

Police immediately cordoned off the area and interviewed possible witnesses. A car that was found abandoned in the area was confiscated for further forensic investigation.

The motive behind the shooting is not yet known. The name of the victim has not been released.
