Threat on Timmermans forces extra security measures

Extra security measures have been taken at the home of Minister Frans Timmermans (Foreign Affairs, PvdA) due to a heightened threat towards the minister. The threat is due to Timmermans' new role as Euro commissioner in Brussels. The Ministry of Security and Justice can't say where the threat is coming from, NRC reports. Timmerman's house has been surrounded by a high metal fence and extra security cameras. The new president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, elected Timmermans as the First Vice President of the Commission earlier this month. According to Juncker, Timmermans will be his right hand man.
